PRESIDENT’S LETTER (Winter 2020)
Greetings, Members and Friends of ACHE RI -
I apologize it has been a few months since I have sent out a Newsletter. Like all of you, learning to live in the world of COVID has changed so much of what use to be "the norm".
To start, I want to say Thank You for the work that everyone has done during this pandemic. There is no doubt this virus has impacted someone that we know either Emotionally, Mentally, Medically and/or Financially. We are learning to live in a more virtual world - where personal contact is almost non-existent - something that is difficult for Healthcare folks. Nonetheless, we will do as we always do, we will learn and adapt and will thrive in "the new norm" whatever that might be...
Similar to the adaptation your organizations have experienced, we are working hard to adapt our focus within your ACHERI chapter. Unfortunately, we have had to cancel the onsite events this year so far. The Board has discussed what we do for the remainder of the year and we have decided to cancel the onsite events with the caveat that we will assess the situation in August for the Annual meeting in October. However, this has not stopped us from continuing to seek opportunities to connect as members.
In April we did a collaboration with the Connecticut and Massachusetts chapters for two 1 hour Zoom meetings.
1. Digging Deep - Leadership Lessons from the Field to care for Yourself and Colleagues During Times of Prolonged Stress
2. COVID 19 - Financial Recovery & Cash Flow Stabilization
Both of these events had over 200 people registered and from as far away as Wisconsin - How exciting is that?? In addition, we were able to offer Qualified Credit to members free of charge!
Going forward our education series will focus on Leadership in this new environment. Our plan is to continue to collaborate with our sister chapters to be able to provide even more opportunities for our members. We are finalizing the education calendar and will have it posted to the website soon - so be on the lookout!!!
Please reach out to myself or any of the Board members if you have questions about the Chapter, want to serve on a Committee, or have ideas on how we continue to provide value to you as Members.
Be safe - Wash your Hands - Social Distance - Be Good to Each Other!!
