PRESIDENT’S LETTER (Fall 2020)
Greetings, Members and Friends of ACHE RI -
I hope this finds you and your families well and finding a way to live in this new norm. If nothing else, we have all learned how to use Zoom or TEAMS or WebEx or any number of the other virtual platforms out there. However, many of us are likely experiencing "zoom meeting fatigue" or still have that "one person" that has not figured out how to go on (or off) mute.
Even though we all would prefer to meet Face to Face, our Chapter has been active during the summer with virtual events. Over the course of the summer we have done the following collaboration events with our sister chapters in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
The Resilience Challenge: Essential Competencies for Healthcare Executives: Jun 10
The C-Suite on the Frontlines During the COVID-19 Crisis: Jun 24
Telehealth and the Patient Experience: Jul 9
Possibilities, Probabilities and Creative Solutions: Breakthrough Thinking for Complex Environments- F2F credits: Jul 8, 15, 22
Energy Resiliency and OPEX Reduction in Healthcare Environments: Aug 13
Organizational Culture Trumps Everything in Healthcare: Aug 18
Silver Lining of COVID-19? The Impact of the Virus on Telehealth Adoption and Access to Care: Sep 30
Weathering the Storm: Developing a Roadmap for Navigating the COVID Era: Sep 23
Preparing for the Second Wave: Strategies to Provide Care to Vulnerable Populations During the Pandemic: Oct 8
I personally want to thank Kim Lumia and John Fogarty, the Presidents of those chapters. It has been great working together.
In July our Chapter was recognized for two National Awards. We received those awards for Chapter Distinction AND Sustained Performance. I'm extremely pleased that even during this difficult time we were able to achieve these awards. A huge THANK YOU to everyone helping to make that happen.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!!!
On October 29th at 5:30 we will be having our Annual Meeting. And yes it will be virtual
Please sign up and come hear about all we were able to achieve this year and a look into the plans for 2021. We will hear from our Regent Jennifer Tomasik and your incoming President Orla Brandos, MBA, MSN, RN ,CPHQ, NEA-BC, Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, Newport Hospital!!! Looking forward to a great hour with you! Please reach out to myself or any of the Board members if you have questions about the Chapter, want to serve on a Committee, or have ideas on how we continue to provide value to you as Members.
Be safe - Wash your Hands - Social Distance - Be Good to Each Other!!
