PRESIDENT’S LETTER (Winter 2019)
Greetings, Members and Friends of ACHE RI -
I would like to start by saying how honored I am to be your President this year. We have a lot
of exciting events lined up and we know that 2019 is going to be a successful year! However,
we would not be positioned where we are as a Chapter without the Leadership that our
outgoing President, Ann Rubino, provided over the last two years. THANK YOU Ann from all
of us in the ACHE RI Chapter!
Within the ACHE family, our Chapter is rather small in numbers but we have been a mighty
force when it comes to achieving Annual awards. Most recently, we were notified that for the
last year we received the Chapter Merit award. However, these awards do not come without a
lot of hard work, effort and ENGAGEMENT. This is the reason at our annual meeting, we
asked you, the Members, to provide feedback to us on how to improve our Chapter and how
does ACHE RI provide value to you. In addition, we asked how you can contribute to ACHE
RI. We received great feedback and Jennifer shared some of that in her Regent Letter.
Currently the Board is reviewing these so we can incorporate as many of the
recommendations as we can into this year! I want to thank you for your ideas and your
honesty. We want more of that!
This year we have a great line up of events starting with our first one on March 29th where we
will have Heather Anderson, a 20 plus year veteran of Lean and Six Sigma, speak about how
we tie Lean processes into daily operations. Her Keynote presentation will be followed by a
panel discussion with individuals who are using Lean within their organizations to drive
operational changes. I had the fortune to get my Lean Certification from Heather and trust me,
this is an event you will not want to miss. Look for the registration information coming soon -
and don't forget to register early!!
Our next event will be a Joint Meeting with MGMA on April 19th "Designing an Effective
Compliance Program to Prevent Whistleblowers" where the Keynote presenters will be
Don Wineberg followed by State Attorney General Peter Neronha and Deputy Attorney
General Adi Goldstein. More to come in the next few weeks.
Please reach out to myself or any of the Board members if you have questions about the
Chapter, want to serve on a Committee, or have ideas on how we continue to provide value
to you as Members. It's all about ENGAGEMENT!
See you March 29 th!
